Who are we?

Joanna is 32, from Australia, and a researcher in linguistics. She likes reading, art galleries and language. Julia is 26, from Italy, and a lab technician in molecular biology. She likes gardening, vegetarian cooking, hiking and theater.

What's the house like?

It's a house in the JP Mickelersstraat, 3000 Leuven. It's a cosy but ramshackle place, with comfortable shared spaces. There's a garden in the back where we've been growing veggies, and where it's nice to sit in good weather. We are a multi-lingual house, and both Belgians and internationals are welcome.

What are the rooms like?

Two medium-sized rooms with plenty of space for a bed and a desk/couch. One room is slightly smaller, with a window overlooking the garden; the other room is slightly larger, with a window onto the street.

What's the vibe?

We are friendly and like working together to create a comfortable shared home. We try to plan a “house dinner” once a month or so, but mostly it's spontaneous interactions over coffee in the mornings or at the dining table in the evenings. We're all pretty busy living our own lives, but we try to support each other and do our bit to keep the house warm and inviting. We're looking for someone who plans to stay with us at least a year.

Things to note:

• domicile is mandatory (sorry, this is a must)
• unfortunately, the landlord does not allow pets
• move-in from 1 September
